Creativity and Spirituality are Interconnected

“When we move toward our own creativity, we move toward our Creator. When we seek to become more spiritual, we find ourselves becoming more creative. Our creativity and our spirituality are so closely interconnected they are in effect one and the same thing. Speaking of God, we often use the words “Maker” or “Creator” without recognizing that those terms are the for “artist.” God is the Great Artist. We are creations and we are intended, in turn, to be creative ourselves.”

We are Creations

Todays artwork is called Rose Window. It was an experiment with sacred geometry and printing photos to fabric.

Mystical Power

“We carry within us all the mystical power we need to transform our world.”

Resurrection Sunrise

When I was young I really enjoyed a good Easter Service with all the music and pagentry.  But as I have grown older I go down to the water and watch the sunrise, maybe spontaneously bursting into song.

On Easter morning the rising of the sun reminds me that God is always present, even if I don’t always see.  It also reminds me of the risen son of God. Easter then becomes a celebration of light overcoming darkness, life overcoming death and love overcoming fear.  Light, life, love. It really is that simple.  But humans have to complicate everything don’t we?

This Resurrection Sunday I hope you have a chance to know the presence of God as you watch the sunrise, reflect on the risen son and remember light, life, and love.  Jesus said, “I am the light of the world,” but he also said, “you are the light of the world.” Don’t forget to let your light shine.

Because You’re a Creation of God

“Because you’re a creation of God, you reflect the Divine qualities of creativity, wisdom, and love.” ~ Doreen Virtue

Today’s art is The World’s Gone Crazy but I’m Okay. This was created long before the pandemic.

The Friday Affirmation

I am creating a positive influence on the world.

Solitude is necessary

Deliberately seeking solitude-quality time spent away from family and friends-may seem selfish. It is not. Solitude is as necessary for our creative spirits to develop and flourish as are sleep and food for our bodies to survive.Sarah Ban Breathnach

The art today is “In the Secret Place.” It has made an appearance here several times, but like it and it fits with the thought for today.

Creative Spirit Desiring to be Free

There is a creative spirit in you desiring to be free, and you may as well get out of its way for it will give you no peace until you do. —Mary Caroline Richards

In Love With Life

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” ~ Osho
