The Friday Affirmation

No one can take my peace from me.

No one can take our peace from us. So why do we give it away?

Retire from the World

Retire from the world each day to some private spot. Stay in the secret place till the surrounding noises begin to fade out of your heart and a sense of God’s presence envelops you. Deliberately tune out the unpleasant sounds and come out of your closet determined not to hear them. Listen for the inward voice till you learn to recognize it. — Aiden Wilson Tozer

Thank You God!

We live in a world where it can be difficult to see the good. It can be difficult to see God. But God is still at work living in, through and as us. Sometimes we just need a little reminder. Thank you God as Eddie Watkins Jr., for this beautiful song.

The Ripples of the Kind Heart

“We all are so deeply interconnected; we have no option but to love all. Be kind and do good for any one and that will be reflected. The ripples of the kind heart are the highest blessings of the Universe.”
― Amit Ray, Yoga and Vipassana: An Integrated Life Style

Coffee and Kindness

“Today’s goals: Coffee and kindness. Maybe two coffees, and then kindness.” – Nanea Hoffman

I’m not a coffee drinker, but I like this quote. Don’t we all have days when we feel like we need a little boost to go through the day at least trying to practice kindness? Whether it is coffee, yoga, taking a few deep breaths, prayer, walking the dog, playing with your children — whatever it takes, start your day affirming kindness.

An Early Morning Walk

“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.” – Henry David Thoreau

I believe this with all my heart. I practice it. Now I have to admit that I don’t wake up every day full of energy and wanting to walk. There are days I grumble at least a little. But once I get out there, watch the sunrise, smell the fresh air, feel the cool air on my skin and begin a conversation with Father God and Mother Earth it indeed does become a blessing.

I also practice health living and sometimes I can get a little obsessed with getting in those steps and really moving. But I have to remind myself that the morning walk isn’t a physical fitness walk. It is a time of communion that blesses the whole day.

The Friday Affirmation

I am inspired by the beauty in my life and all around me.
