As an American I am deeply concerned about the fear, anger, hatred and violence that seems to be overtaking our country during this election year. I am human and it is not easy to resist giving into fear. Sometimes it seems that there is no way to heal our country and bring us back together, but love is always the answer and love is always the way.
Tonight I have this song on my heart. I have chosen this version by the remarkable Sandi Patty to share here. Let’s listen to these beautiful words and resolve to keep plugging away sending out positive energy and spreading love instead of fear. It won’t be easy, but love is always the way.
“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” ― C. JoyBell C.
One of my favorite books is Feel the Fear and do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers Ph.D. Although it was first published in 1987 and Dr. Jeffers passed in 2012 this book and workshops based on it are still going strong and helping people today. I bought a copy in 1990 after moving halfway across the state to take my “dream job” only to have it turn into a nightmare. I not only read the book, I did the work. I stopped watching the news and reading the newspaper. I wrote out affirmations and posted them on the bulletin board above my desk. I even started listening to positive books on tape as I drove to and from work. And you know what? It worked. This book showed me that I could be afraid but keep moving. It also started me on the journey toward living a positive lifestyle. Before that I was a rather negative person. I didn’t change overnight and I am still a work in progress but I am so grateful that Dr. Jeffers wrote this book and persisted in her attempts to get it published. Thank you Susan! You are missed.

On great thing about the technology we now have is that through email lists and apps we can have positive inspiration delivered to us daily, weekly, monthly or however we choose. I subscribe to several email lists. Sometimes I add new ones, and sometimes I trade out old ones for something new. These are a few I am familiar with. Of course you have Espirational for your daily inspiration and I hope you will continue to use us in that way. However, having a little more inspiration never hurts.
Some of these are also available as daily posts on blogs or websites, but I prefer to have them com directly to me via e-mail.
