Man’s Origin was as Spirit

“Man’s Origin was as spirit, not a physical body. These souls projected themselves into matter, probably for their own diversion. Through the use of his creative powers for selfish purposes, man became entangled in matter and materiality to such an extent that he nearly forgot his divine origin and nature.” — Edgar Cayce

The Power of Choice

“Managing the power of choice, with all its creative and spiritual implications, is the essence of the human experience. All spiritual teachings are directed toward inspiring us to recognize that the power to make choices is the dynamic that converts our spirits into matter, our words into flesh. Choice is the process of creation itself.”— Caroline Myss

Art and creativity are all about choices. We can limit our creativty by limiting our choices. Today’s art is called “Quilter’s Burnout. The story beind this is that I was quite frustrated with the rigid rules of quilting and quilt shows. So I decided to burn some quilt blocks that weren’t quite “perfect.” This act of definance was a choice that started me down the path to creative freedom.

Our choices are indeed the essence of human experience and the process of creation itself.

How do you embrace choice in your life?

Challenge of Creative Thinking

“This is the challenge of creative thinking—as you open the spiritual channels of your mind, God can download divine, creative thoughts into your brain. Ask God to enlarge your capacity for thinking, to take the limits off.”Cindy Trimm

Life is an Adventure

“The world that we must seek is a world in which the creative spirit is alive, in which life is an adventure full of joy and hope, based rather upon the impulse to construct than upon the desire to retain whe we possess or to seize what is possessed by others.” — Bertrand Russell

Creativity and Spirituality are Interconnected

“When we move toward our own creativity, we move toward our Creator. When we seek to become more spiritual, we find ourselves becoming more creative. Our creativity and our spirituality are so closely interconnected they are in effect one and the same thing. Speaking of God, we often use the words “Maker” or “Creator” without recognizing that those terms are the for “artist.” God is the Great Artist. We are creations and we are intended, in turn, to be creative ourselves.”

—Julia Cameron in The Artist’s Way Every Day

We are Creations

Our creativity and our spirituality are so closely interconnected they are in effect one and the same thing. Speaking of God, we often use the words “Maker” or “Creator” without recognizing that those terms are the for “artist.” God is the Great Artist.
