Nourishing Body and Soul

I hope you are enjoying the Friday affirmation. This week I decided to add a little extra post. And those who know me shouldn’t be suprised that it is about food.

The cooler temperatures of this season turn me inward. I go inside not only my house but I also turn inward to hear what Spirit has to say during this season of transition. This is a time to focus on caring for not only my house but my body, mind and spirit as well.

Although I cook throught the entire year fall is my favorite. I can finally turn on the oven whithout being driven out of the house by the heat. Warm nourishing soups are some of our favorites as well as various types of muffins.

Check out two of our favorite fall recipes.

Life Starts All Over

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall.”

— F. SCOTT FITZGERALD

I don’t ususally add to posts after the have gone up, but today is an exception. I love Fall. This might seem strange for someone living in vacation land, but the cooler weather signals the beginning of a quieter time here at the lake.

Life does start over for me when the people, noise and flurry of activity of summer go away and the peace and quiet of autumn and winter set in. This is the time I return “home,” In the outer sense by cleaning the house, baking and making warm comforting soup, and taking care of my myself and my little family. Bur Fall is also a time to come home in the spiritual sense by turning inward and listening to Spirit.

As I sit here on this morning with outdoor temps in the 30’s wrapped up in a blanket, sipping hot peppermint tea and listening to quiet I wish you well. May the peace and quiet of Autumn be with you.
