Daily Writing Prompt from Word Press Jan. 11, 2013: If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.
Would I read the book? No I would not. Why?
There have been some dark times in my past. The good, happy times and wonderful people in my life are still very much present and alive in my memory. The dark times I endured, survived and was delivered from are no longer important. I no longer live there and there is no turning back.
Moving forward and walking in the light is not always easy. We can be tempted to look back into the darkness and find ourselves sliding inch by inch back into a deep dark pit. I remember enough of my past to know I don’t want to go back. HALLELUJAH!!!

“Keep on beginning and failing. Each time you fail, start all over again, and you will grow stronger until you have accomplished a purpose – not the one you began with perhaps, but one you’ll be glad to remember.” -Anne Sullivan
We’ve all made well-intentioned promises to do better in the new year, but it’s usually not long before resolutions are left by the wayside. Resolutions don’t work because in addition to determination or even desperation, real lasting change requires a strategy.
Set goals that are:
* Specific
* Measurable
* Reasonable
* Attainable
Breaking your goal down into smaller, readily achievable steps will make staying with it easier. It will also help you see your progress. You also need a way to measure you goal. How will you know when you get there? For encouragement find people who are supportive of your goals and stay with them.
There will be times you want to quit. Keep your reason for wanting this change in front of you — literally. Post it on your bathroom mirror, send yourself a daily e-mail, whatever it takes. Create affirmations and repeat often.
Whatever lifestyle changes you are making remember, you can do it. One step at a time.

I am a big fan of what may seem like useless information. I try to

hang on to as many facts, figures and little tidbits of information as I can, because you never know when you might need them. So National Trivia Day is right up my alley.
Let’s celebrate with a trivia question about trivia. The answer will be in the regular blog post tomorrow.
