Would you read the book?

Daily Writing Prompt from Word Press Jan. 11, 2013: If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.

Would I read the book? No I would not. Why?

There have been some dark times in my past. The good, happy times and wonderful people in my life are still very much present and alive in my memory. The dark times I endured, survived and was delivered from are no longer important. I no longer live there and there is no turning back.

Moving forward and walking in the light is not always easy. We can be tempted to look back into the darkness and find ourselves sliding inch by inch back into a deep dark pit. I remember enough of my past to know I don’t want to go back.   HALLELUJAH!!!

  1. Maybe memory works as it does to keep us from going back. We can see the good times just for the good parts, and imagine the bad times (we survived!) bad enough to not want to relive them. Thank goodness we don’t have infallible recall, just another cool mystery of life 🙂
