“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”
Mahatma Gandhi

We create our life with our thoughts.  No you did not choose to have an illness or an intolerance that limits the foods you can eat.  But you can choose your reaction to the limitations.

  • Focus on wellness rather than illness.
  • Surround yourself with positive people.
  • Try turning your thoughts and actions to living a happy and healthy life, instead of feeling sick and deprived.
  • Use affirmations to focus your mind on the positive.

The gluten free life can be an adventure and an opportunity to learn new things if your approach it with an open mind.  Look for the positive in the gluten free life and you will find it – or it will find you.

At times is it seems that I am living my life backward, and that at the approach of old age my real youth will begin. My soul was born covered with wrinkles-wrinkles that my ancestors and parents most assiduously put there and that I had the greatest trouble removing,… – Andre Gide

“Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” — Jack Benny

Leonard Durso pointed out to me a very similar quote by Mark Twain.  Thank you Leonard

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” —Mark Twain

Either way you state it, when it comes to age, I don’t mind and it doesn’t matter.  🙂

Fight the Ladykiller

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S.?

More women die from heart disease than all cancers combined.

One woman dies from heart disease every minute and more women than men have died from heart disease every year since 1984.

“This disease continues victorious because of misinformation, misdiagnosis and mistreatment.  Until the world realizes a woman’s heart is different than a man’s we won’t change a thing.”

The statistics and the quotes come from http://www.fighttheladykiller.com.  Fight the Ladykiller is sponsored by the Woman’s Heart Health Alliance, an organization “formed to raise awareness, encourage action and drive research to fight women’s heart disease.”

It’s time to join together to Fight the Ladykiller!!
