Now isn’t this fun? Just a reminder not to take life too seriously. Life was created for fun. It’s okay to play.

One of our favorite games, is “what do you see?”
So look at today’s photo.
What do you see?
You may see something different than we did.
There are no “wrong” answers.

“Dance. Dance for the joy and breath of childhood. Dance for all children, including that child who is still somewhere entombed beneath the responsibility and skepticism of adulthood. Embrace the moment before it escapes from our grasp. For the only promise of childhood, of any childhood, is that it will someday end. And in the end, we must ask ourselves what we have given our children to take its place. And is it enough?”
― Richard Paul Evans, The Christmas Box Miracle: My Spiritual Journey of Destiny, Healing and Hope
“Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.”
― tom robbins

“Time is a game played beautifully by children.”
― Heraclitus, Fragments

I actually did this a couple of years ago when I hosted a holiday party for my “over age 60” neighbors. I called it the “kids party” and scheduled it one week before the “adult” open house that served wine and eggnog.
There was a sign at the door telling people to leave their worries outside and put on reindeer antlers (provided) before coming in. We sang Christmas carols, made easy holiday crafts and ate finger foods, including strawberry Santa hats and drank flavored bottled water. And as they used to say “a good time was had by all.” If I do it again I might serve hot cocoa with marshmallows and/or candy canes.
Most adults would really like to be able to act like kids once in awhile, they just need the opportunity and a little encouragement. So next time it’s your turn to entertain think about having a kids party for grownups.

I play with leaves.
I skip down the street and run against the wind.”

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”
— Sophia Loren
