Election Day

“Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.” —Abraham Lincoln

This is election day in the United  States.  Apparently i missed scheduling anything for today.  So I found myself searching for a quote or even words I could say.  It didn’t take long to find this bit of wisdom from Abraham Lincoln and the words started coming to me.

If you have not already voted, please do.  Exercise the needed precautions to be safe.

If you have already voted please pray.  Hold space for a safe and peaceful election.

Dealing with uncertainty is difficult, but we are getting a lot of experience right now are’t we?  Not knowing what will happen next is scary to say the least.  But we do know that no matter which way the election goes people will be upset.

What can we do?  We can continue to pray and hold space for peace and for our country coming together to work for the good of all.   I ask our readers from other countries to please join us in this.

Next put your feet in the right place.  Calm yourself down and seek your inner guidance.  Read Scripture of other inspirational writings.  Get yourself rooted and grounded in love and the Spirit of God which is in us all.  Then stand firm.

Who will go for us?

“God did not direct His call to Isaiah— Isaiah overheard God saying, “. . . who will go for Us?” The call of God is not just for a select few but for everyone. Whether I hear God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude.”

A Higher Calling

Is there more to life than work, parties, earning and spending as much as we can?  Is there even more to “church” as we may know it?  I think the current COVID-19 pandemic is showing us that yes, there is.

In the midst of what seems like chaos and turmoil we are being called to something higher and greater.  We are being given the opportunity to care for each other, examine our own racist tendencies, and realize that the “church” is so much more than a place to go to on Sunday mornings.

Now is the time to begin awakening and realize we are all called, not just our pastors or other church staff.  We are called to shine our light, follow the true teachings at the heart of our faith, and help create a world that works for all.

“Let us not dwell into past thoughts, worn out ideas, false beliefs. Let them go so that you can create a new self by emptying your mind and filling it with new thoughts, ideas, and visions.”
