Living in Joy

“We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.” —Joseph Campbell
The Espirational theme for November is living in joy. I know some may think this inappropriate in the midst of the tragedies and sorrows of this world, but this is the perfect time to remember and chose joy. If we lose joy, we become defeated, living in a world without hope. In other words the darkness wins.
Our lives in this world are meant to be a marvelous, joy filled adventure. But if we live as though life is just one bad thing after another until we die, that is what we will get.
So this month I encourage you to look for joy. Even if all you find is one tiny speck of light hiding in a dark corner, grab on to it. Celebrate it. Keep you eyes open and expect to find more. Defeat the darkness by choosing to live in joy.
We will be talking about joy this month in the Espirational Facebook Community. You are invited to join us.
Slow Me Down
Some of you may not know we have a sing/song writer following Espirational. When Bill Tonnis shared this beautiful song earlier in the month I decided it would be the perfect way to end our month on Stillness. May this be our prayer… slow me down.
In the Stillness of the Quiet

“In the stillness of the quiet, if we listen, we can hear the whisper of the heart giving strength to weakness, courage to fear, hope to despair. “ —Howard Thurman
Hello Dear Friends

We are here today to ask for your input as we look ahead into 2020 preparing content for Espirational. You may know that we schedule ahead. We also like to build each month around a theme to assist with putting together quotations, photos, videos, links and our own thoughts.
Looking ahead, in November we will be talking about Joy. This year for December we are going to be doing something different as we study the life and teachings of Jesus. We hope you will join us for this enlightening, encouraging and challenging study. Then in January, the traditional time of resolutions and change, we will be looking at the true beauty that is in all of us, just the way we are.
So that brings us to February where we need your help. In the past, we have relied on the seasons and holidays to guide blog content but that has gotten old, at least for us. February around here has traditionally been either love or heart health month. This year I want to do something different. Do you have any ideas? What would you like to read, think and talk about in February? Please leave your ideas in the comments and let’s talk.
Finally we want you, our readers and followers to know how much we appreciate the time and attention you give to Espirational. Your “likes” and comments mean so much to us and help us keep going. Blessings to you all. — Genie and Bob
