Living in End Times?
There are many people out there speculating or declaring that we are living in the “last days.” Is this helpful or harmful? Is it bringing us together or tearing us apart?
Bob completed a book on the interpretation of the figurative language of the Bible in 1989. After assembling a prophet’s dictionary he used figurative language to interpret the Revelation of John. His interpretation is much different than Hal Linday and others who have written about end times. You may read the Revealed series free of charge at https://espirational.com/free-library/
As a teenager in the 1970’s I remember people being all stirred up over the book The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey. Also, anyone who attended a Billy Graham crusade heard Rev. Graham or one of his associates give the Armagedan sermon. Church members were pressuring our pastor to teach about end times. Finally out of concern for the congregation he gave his response. The entire sermon was summed up in Luke 12:32, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
As my faith and spiritual life have matured that scripture has become even more meaningful. When asked when the kingdom of God would come Jesus answered, 20 “…The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” –Luke 11:20-21.
The Kingdom is not something out there we have to somehow force to come to earth. The kingdom of God is within us. We learn to live in the kingdom by following the example of Jesus, living in the love and light of God and extending that love and light to others. But of course that’s the hard part.
How are you learning to live in the kingdom?
