Are You Still Saying NO to Fear?

The world is in a spiritual battle right now between love and fear.  It is an age-old battle that continues to be played out in the world.  It is important to remember this is not a battle that can be fought with earthly weapons.  It must be fought in our minds with our thoughts.  We are called to shine our light and live the Truth by walking in love and peace.  This will not be easy but we do have tools.  Please use them.

You will find my blog posts on resisting fear including posts on specific tools indexed with links on the page Saying No to Fear.

Stay Calm and Pray for Peace

Tuesday is election day for those of us in the United States.  While we all hope it will be an ordinary election, much like all the others, we know it may not be.  While we do not want to invite trouble, we know it could happen.  So what do we do?

  1.  Meditate on peace.  Inner peace first because that is how we create peace in the world.
  2. Pray
  3. Try to control your exposure to the media.  Don’t hang on to every minute of election coverage.
  4. During the election there have been many things said to intentionally instill fear in the people.  Over the past few months we have been talking about ways to defeat fear.  I have done this so we would all have tools to use if needed.  Use them.
  5. Don’t react immediately to “isn’t it terrible” types of stories.  Election day hasn’t even arrived yet and we are already hearing about intentionally misprinted ballots (hoax), 15 days of total darkness in November (another hoax).  Take the time to calm down and do a little research before you react.  Snopes.com is a good place to start if you suspect something may be a hoax.  Remember if something seems outrageous it probably is.

The most important thing we can do right now is stay calm and pray/mediate for peace.

Tools to Defeat Fear: World Peace Meditation

For as far back as I can remember I have been a get ‘er done, save the world kind of person.  Nothing frustrates me more that being told nothing can be done — unless it’s realizing that there really is nothing that can be done.

I am sure many of you share my dismay as we watch the brokenness in our world that simply seems beyond fixing.  I have been trying to figure out what I could do that would not just make things worse.  In terms of getting out there and doing something, I can’t think of anything.

But if we stop, quiet our minds and go within, there is something we can do.  Peace in the world begins with peace within me.  This is true for each of us.  We meditate on being peaceful.  Then we can visualize that peace going out to loved ones, neighbors, people we do not get along with, extending farther and farther out into the community, country and the planet.

But how does this change the craziness in the world?  It doesn’t.  At least not all at once.  It changes me.  Others see the changes in me and it changes them.  Their friends see  the changes… (get it?).  It also changes the frequency of the vibrations throughout the universe.  Our world is made up of energy.  Everything is constantly vibrating — even though it cannot be seen.  As we reach higher vibrations positive changes start happening.

So if we all meditate on inner peace, then send it out into the universe the world will change.  I believe this with all my heart.  I know it is truth.  I can hear you saying, “one person can’t make a difference.”   Yes, one person can make a difference, and then another and another and another and then we have a movement.
