For as far back as I can remember I have been a get ‘er done, save the world kind of person. Nothing frustrates me more that being told nothing can be done — unless it’s realizing that there really is nothing that can be done.
I am sure many of you share my dismay as we watch the brokenness in our world that simply seems beyond fixing. I have been trying to figure out what I could do that would not just make things worse. In terms of getting out there and doing something, I can’t think of anything.
But if we stop, quiet our minds and go within, there is something we can do. Peace in the world begins with peace within me. This is true for each of us. We meditate on being peaceful. Then we can visualize that peace going out to loved ones, neighbors, people we do not get along with, extending farther and farther out into the community, country and the planet.
But how does this change the craziness in the world? It doesn’t. At least not all at once. It changes me. Others see the changes in me and it changes them. Their friends see the changes… (get it?). It also changes the frequency of the vibrations throughout the universe. Our world is made up of energy. Everything is constantly vibrating — even though it cannot be seen. As we reach higher vibrations positive changes start happening.
So if we all meditate on inner peace, then send it out into the universe the world will change. I believe this with all my heart. I know it is truth. I can hear you saying, “one person can’t make a difference.” Yes, one person can make a difference, and then another and another and another and then we have a movement.
