Why Can’t We Just Play?

When was the last time you stopped worrying about perfection, success, accumulating wealth and realizing your dreams and did something just for the fun of it?  We are constantly bombarded with messages that we can have, be or do anything if we only want it enough and work hard enough for it.  But  the best ideas, inventions and work come from people who love what they are doing.  When that love is lost it stops being fun and becomes drudgery.
It is okay to have a hobby, something you do just for fun, recreation or out of personal interest.  Not everything we do has to be perfect or have the potential for fame and fortune.  When you do what you love it might lead to something bigger, but that’s not the intent.
This life is a school.  While we are here we are meant to learn, grow and help others, but there is also time for recess.  So today I encourage you to take time to play a little.  Do something you truly love and have fun!

How would your life be different if…You decided to give freely, love fully, and play feverously? Let today be the day…You free yourself from the conditioned rules that limit your happiness and dilute the beautiful life experience. Have fun. Give – Love – Play!”Steve Maraboli, The Power of One

A Note from Rogene:  We are all painfully aware of the tragic events of recent days in Aurora Colorado (suburban Denver).  Our hearts go out to the families of those lost and to the survivors who will be dealing with trying to recover both physically and emotionally in days to come.  While it is appropriate to grieve and feel sadness during this time, we must fight the temptation to let fear take over and control us.  Evil only wins if it causes us to change our lives out of fear.  Difficult as it may be life goes on.  Don’t let evil win.
