Why Can’t We Just Play?

When was the last time you stopped worrying about perfection, success, accumulating wealth and realizing your dreams and did something just for the fun of it?  We are constantly bombarded with messages that we can have, be or do anything if we only want it enough and work hard enough for it.  But  the best ideas, inventions and work come from people who love what they are doing.  When that love is lost it stops being fun and becomes drudgery.
It is okay to have a hobby, something you do just for fun, recreation or out of personal interest.  Not everything we do has to be perfect or have the potential for fame and fortune.  When you do what you love it might lead to something bigger, but that’s not the intent.
This life is a school.  While we are here we are meant to learn, grow and help others, but there is also time for recess.  So today I encourage you to take time to play a little.  Do something you truly love and have fun!

  1. No one ever said that to me before. I have however said it my son and other children but never myself. I think I will print this out. Such pressure these days to be productive and I am already productive and really need a small break now and then. I think I will take the dogs for a stroll this evening. ❤
