Good Things Fall Apart

“Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” —Marilyn Monroe

I have to admit that looking back on my life now in my sixties things have defnitely not gone the way I planned. Thank you God!

A lot of planning and good intentions fell apart. The graduate program that opened my eyes to the flaws in scientific research. My alma mater that closed around the time I would have returned to teach. A marriage that fell apart not long after it started. Being rejected by the faith I grew up in. Years lost to depression. It hasn’t been easy, but now I can see how things fell apart so better things could come together.

I may not have accomplished everything I wanted to all those years ago. But my life does matter and I have made a difference and hope I continue to do so. I have been happily married for 31 years. I am on a spiritual path I would never have discovered if things had gone as planned.

I am still learning to be myself and use my spiritual gifts. But those are areas that remind me that life is a journey of continued growth and exploration.

So when things start to fall apart know it could be happening so better things could come together.
