January Follower of the Month Julianne Victoria

The first follower of the month for 2014 is Julianne Victoria.  She blogs at Through the Peacock’s Eyes where she offers insights for spiritual living.  http://juliannevictoria.com/    Please  take a minute to visit and say hello.

Living from our Heart

The new year is a time of new beginnings.  Many of us will make our New Year’s resolutions to better ourselves.  These goals of betterment often include things like losing weight, eating better, looking better, working out, etc.  Those are great goals, but often driven by external influences.

Instead if we turn within and begin living from our hearts, we can transform our resolutions, our goals in live, into acts of love.  When we love ourselves, we take better care of ourselves.  When we love others, we have compassion for their struggles and goals.

Living from the heart is living from the inside out.  May we all in the new year emit Love and Light from our hearts and Be who we all truly are:  Beautiful from the inside out!  That is the only resolution we truly need.

Preparing for an Espirational Time

2 crochet amigurumi donkeys standing beside a manger.

Around this time of year over 2000 years ago, the stage of life was getting set to welcome the birth of the most loved and talked about baby ever born.  A tiny baby who grew up to give the world two things it needed very much. Love and hope. In the spirit of giving, I give you these two sweet donkeys.  The pattern is available here, on my free pattern page and of course at my ravelry store.

Sharon blogs at Gentle Stitches.com.  She is passionate about all things stitchy and environmentally sustaining. She loves to make, write about and teach, crochet, knitting and hand sewing.

The November follower of the Month is Reena Davis who blogs at Yoga with Maheshwari.  I know you will want to take a minute to drop by and visit her blog.

Serenity
In seeking a place of serenity we sometimes find ourselves going through rage.  We fight against the people or circumstances that we perceive are keeping us from the place of peace.  Yogis have a saying — no matter how twisted we are on the outside, inside we
remain calm.  The ability to find our internal peace even as we go through the storms of life is a skill; one that we can develop using mindfulness, practicing metta (loving-kindness), and practicing peace when times are not so difficult.  In those times
that our internal peace seems lost, the serenity prayer can be useful:
God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
~May you find the peace you are seeking.  Namaste, Reena

Fruit of the Spirit

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

” But the

fruit of the Spirit

is love, joy, peace,

patience, kindness,

goodness,

faithfulness,

Meekness, temperance:

against such

there is no law.”

— Galatians 5: 22 & 23

In the constant battle between good and evil

it is unfortunate that some souls are lost

when their moral compass is blocked from their heart.

Have faith, believe that God’s law is there to protect you

from the mean and heartless.

Today, be the warrior for the faithful,

keep your moral compass pointed towards

the right side of the God’s law..

Kindness is the fruit of the Spirit.

Kindness is the beginning of a life filled with love.

DEFINING CORE VALUES

Laurie 3

In my perspective, it’s important to be able to articulate our core values—the things we embrace that keep our internal compass pointing north:

1. I practice intentional kindness (including self).

2. I invest time to examine my motives (why I do, or refrain from doing things).

3. I practice active listening—listening “between the lines” to what’s not being said as well as what’s verbalized.

4. Travel light—travel fast. I live below my means, embracing the philosophy that less is more.

5. Never–ever!—be held hostage by the opinion of others.

6. Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing. If I don’t like something, I change it.

7. Know my life purpose and live it. I am a channel for grace—the immediate presence of spirit.

What are your core values?
