It Really Does Take a Village — Bonnie Estes

Don’t you get tired of hearing people claim everything they own and have accomplished is their own doing with no help from anyone?  It does take a village to raise a child and to keep adults on track.   Bonnie Estes was part of the village that raised me.

Miss Estes was my grade school principal.  She lived across the street from the school and took great pride not only in “her school,” but also in “her kids.”  While I guess you would call Miss Estes “strict” by today’s standards she was also kind.  She kept track of us long after graduation and took pride in our accomplishments.

Why do I remember Miss Estes who passed on long ago?  She taught me one woman can make a difference, and I will never forget.
