I just found one more I had to share.  If you’re not into carving check out these beautifully decorated pumpkins.  All you need is a pumpkin and a permanent marker.  http://rainbowelephant.com/pumpkins-for-non-trick-or-treaters/

Now it’s your turn.  Have you ever experimented with fruit or vegetable carving?  Or maybe you are quite accomplished in the art form.  Perhaps you have been inspired by a fruit or vegetable carving demonstration or display.  Do you have another way of decorating pumpkins?  Tell us about it.

July is recognized as National Watermelon Month by proclamation of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.

Why not celebrate?

*  Watermelon contains more Lycopene than other fresh fruits and vegetables.  A 2 cup serving of watermelon averages 18.16 mg while a medium-sized tomato contains only 4 mg.

Watermelon is an excellent source of Vitamins A and C, a good source of Vitamin B6 and naturally low in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol.

*  Plus it is so much fun to eat!  You get to spit seeds.

The National Watermelon Promotion Board has more information including recipes, fun ideas and activities.
