Monday Motivation

“Your Monday morning thoughts set the tone for your whole week. See yourself getting stronger, and living a fulfilling, happier and healthier life.” Germany Kent

Monday Motivation is something new I trying out this month. I think we can all use a little extra boost on Monday. Watch for a little motivation every Monday. Let me know what you think. Do you want to see this continue?

Planting Seeds

Depending on where you live there are certain times for planting crops, flowers and vegetable gardens. But the great thing about planting seeds for spiritual growth is that they will grow no matter when you plant them. These seeds will still need tender care to grow and mature, but the harvest will be worth it.

This month we will be focusing on planting seeds.

Bear with me here, but I was brought up Baptist. I can’t resist.

September Wrap up

I hope this month has given you a deeper look into prayer and ways of praying.

We end the month with When I Pray by Daniel Nahmod.

Positive Thoughts and Prayers

Positive thoughts and prayer have been the best means available, since the beginning of time, to transform darkness to light.” Cat Stevens

Our Thoughts Are Prayers

Strictly in the Presence of God

″ One way to re-collect the mind easily in the time of prayer, and preserve it more in tranquillity, is not to let it wander too far in other times: you should keep it strictly in the presence of God. ”

Brother Lawrence

Perpetual Communion

“Of all spiritual disciplines prayer is the most central because it ushers us into perpetual communion with the Father.”

Richard J. Foster, Author, Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth

The Shema

“Hear, O Israel: G‑d is our L‑rd, G‑d is one.”

There are many Jewish prayers I could have chosen from but one of my favorites is The Shema. It is also about the only Hebrew I remember from our days as a part of a Messianic group many years ago. Please follow the link under the quote and read the entire article.

Shema Yisrael (שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל) …

Prayer of St. Francis ofAssisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

The Simple Presence of God

“Enjoy the simple presence of God in silence, without the need to offer words.” — Rich Villodas
