My daughter attends college at Montana State in Bozeman, which sits on lands once occupied by Native Americans. I had the chance to talk to a wonderful woman from the Lakota tribe there. We talked about a small, relatively hidden sculpture on campus created by a cowboy whose heart aches for the Indian people there. This sculpture captures the agony of the Lakota people. Sometimes difficult to look at but necessary to remember. May God remember all that has been taken from them and bring restoration.
Thank you for sharing.
Peace, Jody
This is hauntingly beautiful and brings me to tears.
On this day may we remember whose land it is we walk upon
and whose freedom needs to be restored as our First Nations ancestors.
