“In Los Angeles, I drive a hybrid and live in a very simple home. Anything you do from carrying a canteen of water to starting a recycling program in your office makes a difference. Reusing what you already have has always been green – from clothes to boxes to glass jars from the supermarket.” —
Several years ago I happened onto a website called Recyclebank. According to their website, “Recyclebank inspires and rewards smarter, everyday choices for a more sustainable future.”
So how does it work? First you sign up. There is no charge for this, but if you want to earn points you will need be signed in when you participate in activities.
So what are the activities? Well, you can read articles, take quizzes, watch slide shows and pledge to do better when it comes to recycling. Personally I enjoy the quizzes, they are fun. You can even brag about your score on Social Media if you want,
What happens to the points? You use them to obtain discounts, coupons, magazines or make donations to charity.
Even if you don’t want to sign up and earn points this is a great way to learn more about the importance of recycling and have fun at the same time.
