I Hear You

Thank you to all who expressed your support and appreciation to the last post. The blog is already paid up for awhile. So I have decided to post an affirmation on the 1st of each month, beginning in July. Hopefully you will repeat the affirmation every day and let it become part of you. This will free up more time for me to visit your blogs. So don’t be surprised if I stop by your blog and leave a like or comment.

A Time to Move on

I have been writing Espirational since 2012. Keeping it up has become difficult for me and I believe it is time to move on. But it is with at least a bit of sadness that I do so. I have drawn a small but dedicated group of followers over the years and I will miss you all. Your encouragement and support have kept me going. But now it is time to move on and I wish you well. This is the last post and the site will be monitored until it is removed.

I will continue to have an online presence on Facebook where I post as Genie Robbins https://www.facebook.com/genie.robbins.92 There will be affirmations and positive quotes there, but I must warn you that I do get a bit political at times.

The Wednesday Word

Today’s word is attitude. We often associate this word with with the negative. One way Webster defines attitude is a feeling or emotion toward a fact or state. Pretty neutral isn’t it? But our attitude can be positive, negative, optimistic, pessimistic,  cool, cocky, defiant, or arrogant.

The good news is that we control our attitude and we can always change it. So take a quick minute to do an attitude check. Is there something you need to change in your way of thinking to make this the best day possible?

Sunday Inspiration

It is storm season where I live. Tornadoes are possible but for us strong straight winds (up to 80 mph) are more likely. After the first scary storm the year we moved here I placed an angel at each of the corners of our home and two and each door to protect us. When the winds start raging I sometimes struggle to remember that God is with us as we wait out the storm. Sometimes hymns come to mind. Blessed Quietness, When the Storms of Life are Raging Stand by Me and Till the Storm Passes Over are a few that help me get through the storms that will surely come here in Oklahoma.

The Wednesday Word

Todays word is laughter. When is the last time you had a good full out laugh? The kind that rises up spontaneously and frees your soul.

Years ago, about a month after I had left a job that had become unbearable my former supervisor called me. She started telling jokes, one after the other. When I finally laughed she said, I miss that cackle of yours. No one around here laughs anymore.

Sometimes that seems to describe the world we live in now, doesn’t it? Now I’m not talking about laughing at people, making fun of or belittling them. We have way to much of that right now. I’m talking about the pure laugh that spills out from a happy heart.

I believe we can still change this world we live in. It starts with simple things. Like bringing back laughter. If laughing is too hard for you right now, start with a smile, then maybe a little giggle and then work up to a full, spontaneous joyful laugh.
