The word for today is bold. Webster’s defines bold as showing or requiring a fearless, daring spirit. Living in this world often requires us to have a fearless, daring spirit. But with the Spirit of God living within us we are able to achieve this when needed. So as you walk through this world be bold with a fearless, daring spirit. God is with you.
Sunday Inspiration
We all need a day to rest, reflect and recharge. Whether that day for you is Saturday, Sunday or some other day it is important not only for our physical health but for our spiritual health as well. Happy Sunday!
The Friday Affirmation
I take brisk walks in the sunshine to invigorate my body and soul.
From Louise Hay
The Wednesday Word: Original
Today’s word is original. Defined in Webster’s Dictionary as independent and creative in thought or action, a person of fresh initiative or inventive capacity or a unique or eccentric person. There is a lot of pressure today to conform, to be like everyone else. But as someone who tried that it is way overrated.
We were each created to be unique individuals with our own gifts for the world. If we try to be like everyone else something will be missing. So go ahead and be the original you were created to be. Conformity is way overrated and not nearly as fun.
Sunday Inspiration Doing And Being
During these difficult times it is important that those who can do something to make things better and change the world. People like politicians Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Liz Cheney, Kamala Harris and poet Amanda Gorman are using their platforms for change. But what about those of us who are not in a position to do something to directly bring about change?
We can be. Be kind, gentle, caring, loving in a world that is becoming increasingly angry, greedy, self centered and violent. Our children and young adults need better role models than those who are grabbing and abusing power to increase their personal wealth or seize control of our country and the world.
We will overcome. Not by force but by showing the world a better way.
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6
The Friday Affirmation
Let us affirm together:
Negative thoughts do not serve me anymore.
The Wednesday Word — Simplify
To simplify something is to make it easy or easier to understand. But we like to complicate things don’t we? Sometimes I think we do it to show off of knowledge or education. But life would certainly be easier if we learned to simplify not only our language, but also the way we live.
Sunday Inspiration
“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Don’t you love this quote? It reminds us that everything we need to face and deal with this world is inside of us. We can handle anything if we stop, quiet our mind and listen to the wisdom that lies within.
The Friday Affirmation
One small positive thought in the morning can change my whole day.
The Wednesday Word: Choose
Throughout our lives we are called to make choices. Some are easy some are difficult. But our choices matter. In fact some will shape the whole course of our lives.
One this topic I am going to let Scripture speak for itself. Today I am using The Message.
“You can’t worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you’ll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can’t worship God and Money both.” Matthew 6:24
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15
I call Heaven and Earth to witness against you today: I place before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse. Choose life so that you and your children will live. And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him.
