At six this morning I walked down to the water for morning yoga. It was cloudy but as I looked toward the east there was a big splash of color just over the horizon and under the clouds. I continued to watch the sky during my morning pratice as the sun began to be visible then disappeared behind the clouds.
After watching cloudy sunrises for a couple of weeks now I have discovered that they have their own unique beauty and that the color that does manage to peek through is even more intense. One morning there was heavy mist over the water and the sun in all it’s glory appeared in front of the clouds.
I no longer have a camera that takes good sky shots. I tried to take one with my cell phone last week, but it didn’t capture the colors. But maybe thats a good thing because instead of trying to get the perfect photo I could just sit and immerse myself in the experience.
So the next time you see a sunrise take the time to sit with it. Breathe in. Breathe out. Take in the peace, the quiet and the beauty.
I always wanted to have a decent camera so I could take nice sky shots, but alas never had the time and it’s too late to start now as my eyesight isn’t as good as it once was. My phone camera is also pretty good for most things and a lot easier to “lug around” so I talked myself out of getting a decent camera.
I do love sunrises and sunsets though. Whether it’s a clear sky or cloudy, so many of them are special in their own unique way.

Thank you for leaving a comment. The only reason I live at the lake is for the sunrises and sunsets. :}
