“When I face the desolate impossibility of writing 500 pages, a sick sense of failure falls on me, and I know I can never do it. Then gradually, I write one page and then another. One day’s work is all that I can permit myself to contemplate. ” -John Steinbeck
good advise! Break it up into manageable chunks but most important BEGIN! 😀

This is an idea that really solidified itself for me during the last NaNoWriMo… 50,000 words sounds like a lot, but 1667 per day is nothing. I do that in a blog post without thinking. So why not also in the novel that I’m so fond of writing? It reminds me a lot of Anne Lamott’s “Bird by Bird” advice. If you look at any goal in its entirety, it’s overwhelming, but if you set bite-sized goals, and chip away at it, you’ll be surprised at how fast your reach your destination. My blog post today talks a bit about this, actually 🙂 http://shananwinters.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/making-plans/
