Black Friday

My custom has been to talk about Story Corps National Day of Listening as an alternative to Black Friday Shopping.  I still think this is a great idea and invite you to the Story Corp website for more information.

However this year I thought I would do something a little different.  Does your family have a day after Thanksgiving tradition that does not involve shopping?  We would love to hear about it.  Please leave a comment and share your ideas and activities.

  1. We have a “pajama day” on Boxing day. It is the one day of the year we don’t get dressed and we just read or rest (the kids play) all day. Our next door neighbour who is a young school teacher started the trend and each year more of our neighbours join in. It is an amazing feeling after all the hype. ❤

  2. What is this mania for shopping after Holidays? In Australia it is Boxing Day sales. I have never participated as I have tried to keep holidays free from commercialism.
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving. For me I gave thanks that a very severe thunderstorm in greater Brisbane caused no damage to my family and friends.
