Cool Smoothies for a Hot Summer: The Blueberry Breeze

This dairy free smoothie gets its creamy texture from frozen bananas. If your fruit is not frozen, you will need to add ice cubes to your smoothie. This will make it a little icy, but it does work. But how healthy is this smoothie? Blueberries are very high in antioxidants and the good news is that blueberries can be frozen without damaging the antioxidants. Cranberry Juice is often used to prevent urinary tract infections. Watch the sugar content of your juice though. Bananas are high in potassium and are fat and cholesterol free. They are also a good source of energy due to being high in carbohydrates. [Source: The World’s Healthiest Foods www.whfoods.com].

  1. Looks great! I have some glasses just like that one. They belonged to my grandmother. My mom recently gave the set to me. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    1. Do you have the whole set? There are three sizes of glasses and dessert dishes in mine. They were a wedding gift and I use them every day. I like that they are pretty, but also nice and sturdy.

      1. I have a whole set of what I assume are called “iced beverage” glasses (about 6-8″ tall). I didn’t know there are different sizes. She also had green ones that another family member got. They make me think of being at her house 🙂
