I really enjoy your posts! But I think Mother Teresa is a bit too controversial when there are so many others out there who are not…

Interesting comment. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. I’ve posted quotes by people I thought could be considered controversial, but I never thought that about Mother Teresa.

Maybe I joined the party too late, missed them or was in a different place. Her controversies for us atheists are quite clear, elucidated by one of our group’s finest. The quote itself is great. And I believe it to my core. After all, Jesus was a socialist (if not communist). And a great person!

Thanks for the comment, you made me think. Sometimes we get stuck in our own world view and don’t realize that everyone does not always have to agree with us. Thank you for the reminder. You are right about Jesus and the beginnings of Christianity were socialistic. Sorry if this offends my Christian followers, but go read the book of Acts.
When choosing quotes I try to include a wide variety from people with different perspectives, political beliefs, religious beliefs and faith traditions, cultures, locations, professions and jobs. I don’t really care if the person is famous, infamous or even a totally unknown farmer in China if the words resonate with me. I try to keep things positive and nothing posted here is ever intended to be offensive to anyone.
Please hang in there with me — the quotes change every day. Just keep in mind I am a Christian and that does influence my choice of quotes and my own words here.

I have found your blog to be one that I need with my morning (afternoon) coffee! I would never kill the messenger! You are doing me, and I’m sure many others, a great service! Please do not change. A little controversy can be good! I say ‘God Bless’ in the Western secular sense!
