I could not find much information and the dates I found were Dec. 2, 3, and the 1st Saturday of December. But I did find the Coats for Kids program of the Salavation Army and the Marine Corp. Reserves Toys for Tots . So I decided t remind you about the fine work of these organizatons.
Coats for Kids provides warm winter coats for children in need. No one wants children to be cold and without a coat. This is a good time to go through your childrens closest and donate coats that no longer fit. For more information visit https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usc-wm4/news/donate_a_coat_2013/
Toys for Tots is a program of the Marine Corp Reserves. New, unwrapped toys are collected from October to mid-late December. Distribution is also in mid to late December. Members of the community drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes positioned in local businesses. Toys are distributed to less fortunate children with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies. We like to say that Christmas is for children. Let’s be sure we include all children and not just the fortunate few.
