Rogene Robbins Fabric Artist

Rogene (Genie) Robbins is an artist who sees being an artist as more about who she is rather than what she does. Whether creating original, one of a kind fabric art, writing for her spiritual blog or writing a book, or creating recipes for gluten free home cooks, she approaches her life with the same creativity and awareness of the spirit with which she approaches her artwork.

She realized she was an artist during her first studio art class in high school. Later she experimented with various media before realizing her artistic medium was fabric and thread, using skills passed down from her grandmother and mother.

Over the years Rogene has developed her own unique, quirky style of art inspired by nature and life in general. She does not use a lot of fancy equipment, preferring to work the “old fashioned” way with fabric, needle and thread, scissors, iron and a metal ruler. All of her stitching now is done by hand, but a few of her older pieces may include a bit of machine stitching. You will see that she does love metallic thread.

Rogene creates one of a kind original works of fabric art inspired by life. She likes to say that all her work is spiritual no matter the subject since all of life is spiritual. Much of her recent work is inspired by nature since moving to the lake several years ago.
