We are blessed to live in a beautiful place. When we decided to leave the big, bad, violent city behind and go elsewhere for our retirement we never imagined we could find such a wonderful, peaceful, natural and affordable setting. Thank you God!
Let me take you on a tour. As you drive into the community you will notice a beautiful assortment of spring/summer flowers.
This is our home. We enjoy lunch on our deck weather permitting. Our neighbors drive by on golf carts and wave when they go by. You can see the cow pasture behind us. No cows were out when this was taken but they do come down to the fence to say “hello.”
The humming-bird feeder in front of my studio window. Bob and I both enjoy watching birds at this feeder.
I like to go down to the lake for my morning meditation weather permitting.
Enjoy the wonderful view of the lake as you leave the property. Be careful and drive slowly, we don’t want to have to pull you out of the water. 🙂
Your place looks so very peaceful. Mine is a manufactured home in a lovely park. I have a little land that I get to care for though it’s leased. My view is not as exceptional as yours by the lake but I have nice tall trees behind me. No houses back there. It’s the little things that make a house feel homey. I’m sure the lake view does it for you. Beautiful flowers too.

Our park sounds similar to yours. It just starts at the lake and goes up the hill to the road. We have lots of old trees here. The “closeness” can be a little irritating at times, but we can’t afford a solitary cabin in the woods. 🙂

There is a trade off in life. Because of my age and circumstances, I opted for community verses privacy. There are some difficulties with being shoehorned in but I have access to everything I need within a short distance and when I can’t drive, there is public transportation here. My son can’t get over how quiet it is here most of the time. I have some really good neighbors. And some not as good. 🙂

What a beautiful area surrounding you,I can’t wait to move out of my monstrosity of a house and into something peaceful and serene. I am retired, but my wife hasn’t retired yet. I am only 53. What state is this in? Our biggest challenge will be to look for something nice . . .and affordable. Your meditation spot is perfect!

We are in Oklahoma on Grand Lake ‘O the Cherokee. When you live near other people and water there will always be ups and downs (sometimes literally), but this is home and we love it. Hope you find the right place for you.

We’ll probably have to move out of state as we live in Taxachusetts where the cost of living is astronomical. There are many beautiful places in Massachusetts, but the problem is finding something reasonably affordable. Luckily New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont aren’t that far away from us.
